Tammy is a board licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Masters Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the state of New Hampshire. Prior to receiving her master’s degree in community mental health and substance abuse counseling at Southern New Hampshire University, Tammy worked with children and their caregivers in the state of Maine as a Behavior Analyst Technician, a certified Behavioral Health Professional and a Licensed Social Worker. Since completion of graduate school, Tammy has worked as a psychotherapist, providing individual, family and group mental health and addiction counseling to individuals of all ages in a variety of settings, e.g. hospital, police department, county and state corrections and community mental health. Prior to private practice, she provided both individual and group therapy to first responders and military veterans experiencing posttraumatic stress, anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorder, substance misuse and obsessional-compulsive behaviors.
Through use of empirically supported practices, Tammy helps individuals who suffer with unhelpful thoughts, painful emotions and difficult memories, to increase their ability to live their life in a meaningful and fulfilling way.
Currently, Tammy provides individual counseling services, using evidence-based practices through an integrative, person-centered approach, tailoring treatment to individual needs. She practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
