About Lyle Vintinner PSYD- Available November 2020

Dr. Vintinner earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of New England and his Doctor of Psychology degree from the George Washington University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Counseling and Psychological Health of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Dr. Vintinner has experience providing services in community mental health, college counseling, military, and private practice settings. While at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he specialized in helping college students as they navigated major transitions, interpersonal relationships, and stressful life events. He also created and co-led a therapy group devoted to men’s issues, where group members explored topics related to masculinity, individual identity, relationships, and managing challenging emotions.

Dr. Vintinner provides brief and long-term individual psychotherapy for adults. He utilizes an integrative approach that draws from an array of therapies in order to best meet an individual’s needs. Specifically, he uses techniques from psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness and relaxation strategies, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.

Regarding psychological assessment services, Dr. Vintinner has experience providing psychoeducational and diagnostic assessments for young children, adolescents, college students and other adults. He often tests for specific learning disabilities, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, emotional and behavioral concerns, developmental delays, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and other concerns regarding diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
