Lindsay Staples, PhD received her degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 2019. Prior to The Counseling Center, Dr. Staples completed training at the UCLA Psychology Clinic, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, Dartmouth Hitchcock, and Hanover Psychiatry. She treats individuals with a variety of concerns including panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, and other problems related to regulating emotion.
Dr. Staples takes a collaborative, structured, goal-oriented approach to assist clients in identifying behaviors and thoughts that are not serving them well and implementing alternatives. She has a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and related disorders as well as depression. Specifically, her research and clinical background concerns the utilization of exposure therapy for individuals struggling with anxiety. She also utilizes tools from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy for chronic depression (CBASP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
