Dr. Orifici earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology (1988) and a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Relations (1990) at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. After working for several years in a psychiatric inpatient hospital setting and then a day treatment center, she went on to obtain her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (1997). During the course of her graduate training, Dr. Orifici completed four years of supervised clinical work in a variety of outpatient settings and then received additional training while working as a clinician at an intensive residential treatment program before joining the Counseling Center of Nashua in 1999.
Dr. Orifici is licensed to practice as a clinical psychologist in the state of New Hampshire. She enjoys providing individual and group therapy for adults and has a special interest in working with couples struggling with relationship issues. Her style is interactive and she strives to provide a safe, comfortable, non-judgmental environment for her clients in order to promote healing and personal growth. Areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety, stress-related problems, anger management and self-esteem issues, as well as relationship and parenting difficulties.
Utilizing an integrative, collaborative approach to treatment, Dr. Orifici draws on her clients' strengths to help them overcome life challenges. She incorporates the use of cognitive-behavioral and positive psychology techniques to assist her clients in developing coping strategies to manage troubling symptoms and improve overall functioning and life satisfaction.
