Dr. Karin Hovey earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Southern New Hampshire University and her Master of Science and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England. She completed an American Psychological Association accredited predoctoral internship at Southeast Human Service Center in Fargo, North Dakota. Her internship and practical training included a variety of outpatient experiences in individual and group psychotherapy, consultation, and psychological testing and assessment. Dr. Hovey will complete her post-doctoral training at The Counseling Center of Nashua preceding licensing in the state of New Hampshire.
Dr. Hovey appreciates the uniqueness of individual experience and thus utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy based on the needs of the individual. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship to foster insight and facilitate change and emphasizes a strength-based approach to treatment. Dr. Hovey’s areas of interest include individual psychotherapy with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and loss.
