Jillian Clark is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a BA in Social Work and a Minor in Psychology. She completed her undergraduate internship at Seacoast Youth Services where she worked in the guidance department at Hampton Academy and in after school youth development programming. She was accepted into the Advanced Standing Graduate program at UNH and obtained her Masters Degree in Social Work in 2010 with a focus in Oncology Social Work. She completed her graduate internship at the Payson Center for Cancer Care in Concord, NH.
Prior to joining The Counseling Center, Jillian worked at the Center for Life Management (CLM), a community mental health agency in Derry and Salem, NH providing outpatient counseling to adults struggling with a range of short term and long term mental health conditions. She has also has experience working in inpatient psychiatric hospitals in the state of New Jersey (Barnabas Behavioral Health and Jersey Shore University Medical Center) where she conducted biopsychosocial assessments, led daily psychotherapy groups, provided short-term crisis stabilization, case management, and discharge planning. In the hospitals, Jillian worked with adults and geriatric patients, some of who were affected by neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
Jillian has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and elders. She maintains comfort working with various populations with a diverse range of clinical issues. She has interest working with individuals who are affected by mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, phase of life transitions, and grief/loss. Jillian is certified in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and also specializes in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, and Stress Management. Jillian is passionate about establishing strong therapeutic alliances and collaborating with clients in their effort to effect change.
