Danielle earned her Master of Social Work Degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. Originally from Rhode Island, she now resides and practices in Maine. Danielle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, experienced trainer and supervisor, with over 13 years of practice with individuals in a variety of clinical settings, including: individual psychotherapy, inpatient psychiatric level-of-care, emergency department crisis intervention, community mental health and school-based day treatment. She specializes in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children, adolescents and adults. She incorporates the principles of Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into her practice.
Therapy can be viewed as a step toward the path of self-discovery. A safe, nonjudgmental, confidential space where thoughtful guidance and insight are shared with individuals to assist in developing the lives they desire. Danielle has a special interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety and depression, with a deeper focus on defining identity and uncovering true meaning and purpose.
Danielle sensitively navigates how mental health, interpersonal difficulties and trauma may impact one’s ability to achieve fulfillment. She explores the way in which self-esteem and defined expectations intersect the journey toward ultimate peace and happiness. Danielle finds joy in working with women navigating the unique challenges that arise in pregnancy, postpartum and parenting. Additionally, she has extensive experience working with children and adolescents during their prime years of identity development. Further, she has conducted research in the field of Suicidology and has served in leadership capacities focused on suicide prevention.
Danielle draws from a myriad of therapeutic techniques in tailoring her approach to your unique needs. Her primary goal is to understand your core values and personality, and make efforts to support you in aligning your actions with who you are and the life you wish to achieve. She is an advocate for your freedom to express your individuality according to your unique ideals. Danielle has supported a diverse range of clients navigating an array of outcomes within the therapeutic process. She integrates spirituality into therapy by defining how one’s spirituality may help to define their core values and practices. There is no predetermined path carved out for each individual client. Rather, Danielle seeks to walk alongside you on your journey toward growth and healing.
