Weston Martin, LCMHC joined The Counseling Center of Nashua in October 2016. Prior to that he managed his own private practice in Rhode Island. He provides treatment for young children and their parents, adolescents, and adults. Weston enjoys working with children who are displaying disruptive behaviors, ADHD, have experienced trauma, or are struggling to adjust to other life stressors. In treating young children, he incorporates parents and when needed, or the entire family into the therapy process when this is clinically warranted. With respect to adults, he is experienced in treating depression, anxiety, anger issues, relationship struggles, symptoms of past trauma or abuse, and other life stressors.

Weston earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Christian Counseling from Central Christian College. While working on his undergraduate degree, he worked in a residential treatment facility providing treatment for children and adolescents with significant mental health disorders. Weston then went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Agency Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. While working on his graduate degrees, he continued his clinical work through The North American Family Institute in their residential treatment programs for adolescents. In this position, he provided individual, family, and group therapy to teens and their families. During this time, Weston was also a trainer for the Risking Connection trauma treatment model. He served on the Board of the Rhode Island Mental Health Counselor's Association, of which he is currently a member. Weston is currently interested in further training in the area of Sandtray Therapy techniques and keeping abreast of developments in Play Therapy techniques generally.

Weston draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Parent Management Training in his approach to therapy. You can expect him to empathetically meet you where you are at in your journey, and to focus on the goals you are looking to achieve in the counseling process.
