Rebecca Plue, Psy.D.
Dr. Rebecca Plue earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from William James
College in Newton, Massachusetts. Her psychological training included working in community
mental health with children and adults, as well as providing preventative play therapy to at-risk
children within public schools. Dr. Plue completed her pre-doctoral internship working with
children, adolescents, and adults in a private behavioral health practice in Rhode Island where she
provided psychotherapy and conducted psychological evaluations. Her post-doctoral training at the
North American Family Institute focused on implementing intensive in-home therapy services to
high-risk youth and their caregivers, and involved providing crisis management, behavioral
interventions, and intensive psychotherapy to reduce behavioral dysregulation.
Dr. Plue has a wide-range of clinical interests, and works primarily with children, adolescents,
young adults, and their families. She utilizes an integrative approach when working with patients
to tailor treatment to their individual needs. And although she has developed broad skills in
treating the full range of child, adolescent, and adult issues, Dr. Plue has particular interest in
working with children, adolescents, and their families to manage anxiety, depression, childhood
behavior disorders, life transitions, and attachment issues. In addition, Dr. Plue conducts
psychological testing for behavioral, emotional, learning, and attentional problems to provide
diagnostic clarity, inform treatment planning, and improve clinical outcomes.
