Ms Volpe obtained her undergraduate degree from St. Anselm College in Manchester, NH with a
BA in Psychology, and her Master's degree in Social Work from Boston University School of
Social Work in Massachusetts. While at Boston University, Ms. Volpe received training and
certification in group psychotherapy. Ms. Volpe completed her first year internship at The Bailey
International School in Lowell, MA working with disadvantaged elementary school children. She
completed her second year Internship and later worked at Easter Seals in Manchester, New
Hampshire, where she was a clinician in a Group Home serving severely mentally challenged
adolescent females with significant trauma histories. She most recently worked at Center for Life
Management (CLM) in Derry and Salem, NH, an outpatient community mental health center
providing individual, group and family therapy to children, adolescents, young adults and families.
Her work with adults at CLM involved helping parents improve their children's behavior, as well as in
assisting parents in coping with behaviorally challenging adolescents.
Ms Volpe's is also trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and she incorporates DBT training
both on an individual basis and by facilitating DBT based emotional skills groups for adolescents
and young adults. Her counseling experience also includes nine years of facilitating self esteem
groups for adolescent females, focusing on the media's effect on self esteem, cognitive behavior
strategies and action strategies designed to increase self esteem.
Ms Volpe works with a diverse client population and she is comfortable in individual, group, or
family/parent counseling, depending on the needs of the client and family. She has an interest in
working with children around challenges with self-esteem, behavioral dysregulation, school
difficulties, and trauma issues. Her other therapeutic interests include working with adolescents
transitioning to adulthood, self injurious behaviors, and parent child interaction difficulties. Ms.
Volpe uses Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and
Humanistic therapy in her daily practice, depending on the needs of the client.
