Ms. Josephs is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a Masters degree in
Psychology and Counseling from Goddard College in Plainfield, Vermont and a Bachelor's
degree in Psychology (Magna Cum Laude). She completed her Internship with Family Strength
where she engaged in in-home family counseling with families referred by the Department of
Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) or the Division of Youth and Families (DCYF).
During completion of her Bachelor's Degree and after completion of her Master's degree, Ms.
Josephs worked in a residential setting serving both female and male clients as well as their
families. She has also worked in Educational Post-Secondary setting as a Counselor and
Adjunct faculty. Lisa most recently worked in a Community and Home-Based Counseling
Agency as the Clinical Director providing services to families referred by the Department of
Juvenile Justice Services (DJJS) or the Division of Youth and Families (DCYF). Referrals were
also made for Foster and Adoptive families were children were placed by the Division.
Ms. Josephs draws on a range of therapy including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT),
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT),
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (for Trauma) and the Nurturing Parent Program in her client
centered practice. She brings over 10 years of experience providing Individual Therapy to
Children, Families, and Adults. Ms. Josephs clinical work includes working with Adoptive/Foster
families that would benefit from understanding the developmental challenges affected by trauma
and processing how that results in behaviors.
